Week Three of PT

Physical therapy is going well. I’m able to sit up for longer and do more without as much pain. This is the ultimate goal, especially with ankylosing spondylosis, The spine is eventually going to fuse together. Physical therapy  helps keep me active as long as I possibly can. My therapist has some stretches she taught me just for AS too. I like that she tailors the treatment to me and not just the same exercises over and over. Though I’ve been to the different rehab centers as well as doing it at home and they all have me do the same basic exercises.

Lynn went with me today. She will sit with me and do the exercises with me too. I enjoy that. It’s good for her as well. These exercises are good for anyone to stay mobile and flexible. My therapist said the same thing me doc said: Lotion is motion. Physical therapy is like greasing the wheels. It keeps you moving and helps strengthen the muscles.

We wear a mask and use hand sanitizer coming and going. They wipe down and sanitize the tables between uses. They try their best to keep things COVID safe.

I noticed the Kemah Boardwalk opened up this week and there were a ton of people there without masks and online a lot of people were happy about that–no masks, yay!

Boo! no!

Why is it so hard to wear a mask? I don’t understand. But even if the law didn’t say you have to, and in Texas and Galveston county it currently does, why make fun of or bash those who choose to wear a mask? People say some really cruel and stupid things to those who are just following the law and being safe. If that makes me a pussy, so be it, I’m a pussy, but I’ll be alive for you to make fun of!

That’s the part I don’t get though–what does it hurt someone else what I do? If I wear a mask, it doesn’t harm anyone else in the least and it could help at the most so why bother with what someone else chooses to do? it makes no sense to me.

Anyhoo, that’s my day for the day. I’m trying to get back into writing again now that I am sitting upright in my chair more often. Wish me luck on that!

I love you and need you all!

Love and stuff,

Michy
